An effective pest control system is a pre-requisite to any site's operational system to protect the products on site. This guideline promotes best practice by exploring the elements to be considered when setting up, operating and monitoring a pest control system, whether this is provided by the site’s own staff or working in partnership with a contractor.
The guideline provides a framework for users to:
• Consider the requirements for establishing a pest control policy
• Identify requirements for preventing pest access to site
• Provide guidance for control and monitoring of pests
• Identify action required when an infestation occurs
• Give guidance on how companies and pest control contractors can work together
