Meet Madhukumar
Madhukumar Gowdru is an accomplished Food Safety, Quality Assurance, and Certification professional with over 19 years of diverse experience spanning the food and beverage manufacturing sector and the global certification industry.
He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Microbiology from Kuvempu University, Karnataka, and possesses more than 10 years of hands-on industry experience across brewing, beverage, dairy, and food manufacturing operations. Throughout his industry career, he served in key leadership and technical roles, including Microbiologist and Quality Assurance Manager, where he developed extensive expertise in food safety management systems, quality assurance, microbiological risk assessment, process control, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.
Over the last nine years, Madhukumar has established a distinguished career within the certification sector, serving in various capacities as a Lead Auditor, Trainer, and Technical Reviewer for internationally recognized certification schemes. His auditing and training portfolio includes FSSC 22000, ISO 22000, BRCGS Food Safety, BRCGS Packaging Materials, ISO 9001, Organic Certification, and other GFSI-recognized standards. He has successfully conducted and managed audits across a broad range of food manufacturing, packaging, ingredient, and supply chain operations.
His professional journey includes esteemed organizations such as United Breweries Ltd., Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., SABMiller India (AB InBev), Dairy Classic Ice Cream Pvt. Ltd., GM Beverages Pvt. Ltd., and Bureau Veritas, where he contributed significantly to quality, food safety, operational excellence, and certification programs.
Currently, he serves as Resource Manager – Food & Beverage Certification at DNV Business Assurance India , leading auditor qualification and competency programs, resource planning, audit allocation, technical capability development, and certification delivery activities for food safety, packaging, and quality management certification schemes. In this role, he plays a pivotal part in strengthening auditor competence, ensuring certification integrity, and supporting organizations in achieving compliance with internationally recognized standards and best practices.
