Meet Ali
About you
I currently work as a Quality Assurance Manager at Linah Group (Linah Farms), where I lead food safety initiatives, audit readiness programmes, continuous improvement projects, and supplier approval audits.
I hold a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, underpinned by a strong academic foundation in science and quality management. This is complemented by specialised training and professional certifications, including BRCGS Lead Food Auditor, ERCA Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000, and BRCGS Certified Internal Auditor, which have strengthened my technical and analytical skills.
Outside of work, I am passionate about maintaining my health and fitness through regular gym training. I enjoy exploring personal development content and tracking my wellbeing and productivity with smart devices.
I am also Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of a charitable organisation that supports families in need and orphans. Driven by a desire for continuous improvement, I strive to grow both professionally and personally.
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?
I joined the BRCGS Professional Programme to strengthen my expertise in food and product safety management, protect brands and consumers, and promote a culture of product safety.
I saw it as an opportunity to gain internationally recognised certification, deepen my experience, and embed globally respected standards into our daily operations.
What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?
For me, the BRCGS Professional certification is far more than a credential — it is a mark of credibility, growth, and professional belonging.
It demonstrates my commitment to global standards and has strengthened my identity within the food safety community. It provides access to the latest industry knowledge, improves my employability, and connects me with like-minded professionals who share insights and tackle common challenges.
Being part of this network ensures I am no longer working in isolation, but contributing to collective progress in quality and safety.
How has the training helped improve operations at your site/company?
The training has reinforced best practices and led to measurable improvements in our operations.
Our product safety systems are more robust, audit scores have improved, and our site now enjoys greater credibility with external stakeholders. The knowledge gained has enhanced our approach to risk assessments, root cause analysis, and preventive actions, bringing a fresh perspective to operational decision-making.
What did you most enjoy about the training?
I particularly valued the quality and delivery of the training. The trainer’s clarity, practical approach, and interactive style made complex topics engaging and accessible.
Real-world examples and group tasks encouraged open discussion and helped solidify key concepts.
What are you most looking forward to within the Professional community?
I am looking forward to networking with other professionals, gaining exposure to new tools and best practices, and accessing exclusive resources such as Microlearning sessions.
I also hope to collaborate on projects and, in time, contribute back to the community as a consultant and trainer, making full use of BRCGS training courses, seminars, and scientific resources.
How do you plan to keep your skills up to date?
I plan to remain active in my professional development by enrolling in advanced training, attending webinars and industry events, and pursuing additional third-party qualifications.
My goal is to maintain a well-rounded skill set that combines technical expertise with strong leadership capabilities.
What are your career ambitions/aims?
Looking ahead, I aspire to lead my own team of technical professionals, expand the implementation of the BRCGS Professional Programme across other departments, and eventually launch my own business in quality and compliance.
My ultimate ambition is to be recognised as an industry leader — not only for my knowledge, but for the tangible results I deliver and the high standards I uphold.
The BRCGS Professional Programme has been a turning point in my career, equipping me with the tools, confidence, and community to take my next big step.
