Meet Ayse

About you

I was born on 4 February 1970 in Istanbul and lived there until university. I enjoyed sports, reading books, exploring new areas, and camping. After graduating from high school, I moved to Ankara, the capital of Turkey, where I attended Middle East Technical University (METU) and graduated in 1993. I then completed a Master's degree in Business Management in 1996.

I started my career in Turkey selling JOHA emulsifying salts and worked in the meat and dairy industries. Over time, I specialised in the dairy industry and continued to develop my expertise. Today, I am married, have two children, and live in Cyprus. I still enjoy reading, hiking, and camping with my family.

Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?

I joined the programme to improve myself and keep up with the constant system changes taking place around the world. I wanted to continue developing my knowledge and adapt to new regulations.

What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?

The programme has changed my perspective on the industry, management systems, and professional behaviours. It has also helped me connect, communicate, and share ideas with other professionals, creating a valuable opportunity for lifelong learning and networking.

How has the training helped improve operations at your site/company?

The training has helped me identify solutions more quickly and efficiently while ensuring we continue to comply with regulations. It has also improved our attention to detail, research capabilities, planning, and preparation for inspections.

What did you most enjoy about the training?

The most enjoyable aspect was learning and working alongside professionals from different sectors and industries. The communication between trainers and participants was also very positive and supportive, making the experience both effective and enjoyable.

What are you most looking forward to within the Professional community?

The programme has enabled me to connect with other professionals and provides an opportunity for lifelong learning and networking. I am grateful to be part of a community where I can share knowledge, learn from others, and continue developing myself.

How do you plan to keep your skills up to date?

The world is constantly changing, and we must continue to develop ourselves to keep pace with those changes. I plan to embrace new strategies and technologies while continuing to read, learn, and research to expand my knowledge.

What are your career ambitions/aims?

Before joining the programme, I had already established my ambitions and goals during my university years, and those ambitions have guided me throughout my career. I am grateful to Middle East Technical University (METU) for helping shape that mindset.

My goals remain the same: to become more innovative, knowledgeable, and confident in applying regulations. I also strive to remain positive, enjoy my work, and continue challenging myself professionally. I intend to pursue these goals throughout my life.
