Meet Giannantonio

About you

I’m currently employed at ARTI GRAFICHE LIZZI S.p.A. a small printing company in north-east Italy. We print non-food contact labels for the food and beverage industry and we have been certified BRCGS Packaging Materials since 2017.

I’m Quality System Manager and HARA Team Leader. Together with the team we developed the programme for our company to achieve BRCGS certification.

Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?

I felt I needed in-depth training in a field where I knew too little, whilst getting formal recognition of my efforts and achievements from a well-known and influential organisation, such as BRCGS.

What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?

Professional knowledge of food safety; wide recognition of my skills and competence, self-awareness, and confidence in being able to help my company to further develop our QMS and propagate the food safety culture amongst my colleagues. Plus, a big motivation to keep learning and fulfill the Professional Progress Programme.

How has/will the recognition programme impacted your work?

It has given me much more confidence in my role as team leader, and more self-awareness of food safety.

How did you get to your current role?

I’ve always worked in the printing industry and since 2010 in quality management. It was a natural step to become project and team leader when the company decided to get the BRCGS Packaging Materials certification back in 2017.

What is your educational background?

Technical commercial education (High School diploma in accounting).

What are your career ambitions/aims?

To further develop my knowledge and expertise in food safety management by continuing my professional development through the BRCGS Professional Progress Programme.
