My current role is Head of food safety/quality/ECS and Regulatory affairs for an industrial bakery, specializing in gourmet baked goods.

Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?

I joined BRCGS Professional Programme to once again challenge myself and grow my skills in critical thinking and process approach.

What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?

BRCGS Professional certification has helped me strengthen my understanding of systems and processes, root cause analysis and increased my ability to troubleshoot day-to-day challenges and better support my organization. As someone who heads the food safety and quality system for my company, this certification was necessary to empower me to become a well-rounded leader in implementing BRCGS global standards. The structure of this certification is in such a way that it embodies every piece that is required to build a strong food safety structure.

How has/will the recognition programme impacted your work?

Not only has it helps sharpen my knowledge as a food safety professional, it also adds tremendous value to my company from the standpoint of knowledge and customer confidence.

How did you get to your current role?

My passion for implementing and maintaining BRCGS in my present company was recognized and I was interviewed and the role was offered to me.

What is your educational background?

I have a Master’s degree in Food sciences and I am currently pursuing a PHD.

What are your career ambitions/aims?

I want to continue sharpening my skills and find more effective ways for preventing hazards in food industry. It is always a fine balance in the real life production of food, between cost and control and I truly believe we have a shot at further increasing controls, by raising awareness of food safety hazards and food safety culture. I want to empower people and encourage them to pursue their dreams.
