About you
I work as Senior Executive QA/QC at Ramdev Food Products Pvt. Ltd., a ready to eat food manufacturing unit in Ahmadabad-India. I am responsible for most activities related to Quality Assurance, which involves the implementation of different food safety standards and requirements including FSSC22000, BRCGS Food Safety, IFS, HACCP, HALAL, etc and, 1st and 2nd party audits. I also provide training on good manufacturing and personal practices and other good practices to the teammates.
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?
I worked for a BRCGS certified site for more than two years and during this time I have seen BRCGS as a GFSI benchmark standard that impacted the food supply chain positively. BRCGS Professional helped me to enhance my skills and provide me a better understanding of the process and product safety management system.
What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?
I feel that the BRCGS Professional programme has helped me become competent in the BRCGS Food Safety standard. As this programme is a globally recognized and a very unique process to achieve it, it gives me confidence in my workplace and has developed my skills.
How has/will the recognition programme impacted your work?
This recognition programme helps me in various ways as it has changed my thinking process related to food safety and given me a deeper understanding of the food safety process and risk assessment. Since completing this programme, I also observed that with very limited support from other team members now I can individually perform all the work.
How did you get to your current role?
I started my career in 2015 after my bachelor as 'Quality Trainee' in Himalaya International Pvt. Ltd. and left that organization in mid-2018 as 'senior executive quality assurance'. I joined Ramdev group in June 2018.
What is your educational background?
I completed my Bachelor of Technology in Food Technology in 2015 and plan to complete MS in Food Science in 2022. I also have completed several short courses to develop and support my career such as ISO 9001 Internal Auditor, FSPCA PCQI- Human Food, IRCA approved FSSC22K Lead Auditor, BRCGS Approved product safety management courses, HACCP, BRCGS Food Safety Issue 8 Lead Auditor course, etc.
What are your career ambitions/aims?
I want to become a Food Safety Lead Auditor, Consultant, and Trainer to train and raise awareness about food safety standards globally. I also want to undertake the BRCGS TTT course to become BRCGS Approved Training Partner and if possible I also want to work with the BRCGS group.
