Meet Raúl Hernán
About you
I am a Food Industries Engineer, registered and licensed, with a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and a specialisation in Quality Management Systems and Food Safety. I currently work as Quality Manager at EXPORTADORA EL SOL S.A., where I lead strategies aimed at continuous improvement and compliance with international food safety standards. At the same time, I work as an Academic Professor in recognised institutions such as SENATI and ADEX, in addition to providing services as a freelance consultant and instructor for various organisations in the agri-food sector.
My personal motivation is deeply linked to my family; spending time with my mother is a constant source of inspiration. I live with my two pets, Lucky and Aston, and enjoy walking at night, as well as keeping up to date by reading scientific research and regulatory developments in the sector.
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme? What did you most enjoy about the training?
I joined the Professional Programme with the aim of integrating into a global community of specialists, strengthening my knowledge in Product Safety Management, and improving my employability. The training I have undertaken has had a tangible impact on my professional performance: greater security in processes, better qualifications in audits, and increased credibility with international clients.
What I value most about the programme is the quality of its content, the practical approach of the teaching methodologies, and the possibility of applying what I have learned immediately.
What are you most looking forward to within the Professional Community? How do you plan to keep your skills up to date?
Within this community, I hope to continue interacting with like-minded professionals, access exclusive benefits such as micro-learning, and keep my skills up to date through the PPP system: enrolling in new training, participating in mentorships, conferences, webinars, and continuing education activities.
What are your career ambitions/aims?
My short-term goals include implementing the Professional Programme approach in other areas of my company, starting my own business linked to the food sector, and consolidating myself as an internationally recognised leader in the food safety and quality industry.
What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?
Belonging to a larger community of professionals, enhanced knowledge of Product Safety Management, and improved employability.
How has the training helped improve operations at your site/company?
The training has improved product safety, led to better audit ratings, and increased credibility with external customers.
