Meet Sarah
About you
I fell into the food industry after university and now I have been part of it for 15 years. I work for Cargill Food and Bioindustrial (CFB) Solutions as a member of the regional FSQR Process Standardisation team supporting our colleagues at our sites across EMEA, to ensure we work together to simplify and align product safety compliance processes. Outside of work I’m married with two young boys. I enjoy reading and spend time outdoors with friends – a day in the fresh air is a great way to gain energy!
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?
It was a great opportunity for me to gain greater understanding of best practices in the food industry, extend my network and invest in myself
What value do you personally feel the BRCGS Professional certification brings to you?
It has elevated my own confidence in product safety management, which is so important, we aren’t in this game because its just a job – it’s a career and this certification allow you to continue to build this.
How has the training helped improve operations at your site/company?
It’s allowed me to transfer my knowledge to site team members in an effective way enabling them to utilise the learnings and create vigour in their workforce embedding our food safety and quality culture.
What did you most enjoy about the training?
EWC delivered my BRCGS Approved training and I found the assignments / case studies the best way to reflect on the training theory the ATP enthusiastically communicated.
What are you most looking forward to within the professional community?
The Microlearning - I believe it will allow me to continue learning and identify creative ways to share this information
– plus you can use this towards PPP continuing my development long term
How do you plan to keep your skills up to date?
I am going to use the PPP to plan ahead – I think over the years you keep up with your current customer requirements but this will allow me to keep myself accountable!
What are your career ambitions/aims?
To be authentic in how I approach a food/product safety and quality topics. BRCGS Professional allows me to review and take on board different perspectives. Diversity isn’t just needed in the workplace from a DEI perspective – we also need it to create diverse solutions to continually challenge and not get left behind with the innovative landscape of product safety.
