Meet Simge
About me
After earning my degree in Food Engineering in Turkey, I spent six years as a quality manager in the food industry, gaining hands-on experience with the food safety management systems. I then worked alongside BRCGS lead auditors at a consultancy firm, further refining my expertise.
In 2019, I moved to Ireland, initially focusing on growing my own business before joining food manufacturing companies to gain international experience. Working with teams from 11 different cultural backgrounds provided me with valuable insights into food safety perspectives and behavior change. This experience deepened my understanding of how to foster a strong food safety culture across diverse teams. Currently, I am the Quality Lead at a food company in Ireland while also running my own consultancy. I support businesses in Turkey, Europe, and the UK with food safety management, helping them build effective systems and practices.
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?
As BRCGS is a globally recognised standard, I see it as a valuable credential that aligns with my career goals. Living in Ireland, I am focused on expanding my expertise and taking on more Europe-based projects. The BRCGS Professional Programme helps me develop stronger technical skills, refine my auditing expertise, and stay ahead in the international food industry.

This certification not only enhances my expertise but also strengthens my ability to navigate food safety standards on a global scale.
