About you
I am currently working as the Quality Manager at Tempak (Pty) Ltd, a conversion company of plain and printed mono and multi-layer films into a wide range of packaging bags and reel stock for food and non-food products, I am also part of the sister company, Didget (Pty)Ltd, a digital printing, lamination and conversion company that provides packing to the FMCC and non-food product industry. Both companies are based in Johannesburg, South Africa. My responsibilities include BRCGS compliance and management of quality systems. I work closely with all other departments in the organisation. I have 18 years’ experience in the food manufacturing environment and 4 years within the packaging and printing environment. I love spending time on the floor teasing the team about what I have learned throughout the years as well as learning from the team members.
I have a diploma in Quality Management and Manufacturing Management.
In my private time, I am a competitive BASS angler and truly enjoy the peace and quiet of the waters.

BRCGS professional certification provided me with a confidence boost, I gained a great deal of extra knowledge, have learning opportunities available at all hours of the day and the certification has truly improved my way of thinking and executing and implementing excellence within my daily routines.
How has the training helped improve operations at your site/company?
The training programmes have helped me gain confidence in what I do, how I provide training to fellow employees and most importantly how a handle 3rd party on site audits. With the knowledge and skills, I developed through the BRCGS professional program and all the micro learnings, certification audit stress is a thing of the past.
What did you most enjoy about the training?
The training material is always so practically implementable, it has relevance to what you are doing. It doesn’t matter how many different industries are around the table for any given training course, the training providers always have a way of bringing it home for all the attendees.
What are you most looking forward to within the Professional community?
I’m excited to learn from other professionals who have more exposure and knowledge than myself, to have open honest discussions regarding problems or advice that any other professional team member may face and more importantly, that great feeling of accomplishment when as a professional team, we are able to help each other solve a problem.
How do you plan to keep your skills up to date?
I would like to add some PPP points through mentoring some of the younger generation within the organisation, by attending value adding webinars and learning as much as I can from the micro learning system.
What are your career ambitions/aims?
Somewhere down the line, I would like to be in a position to become a lead auditor or consult for other industries that are implementing systems for the first time. I have a keen drive for continuous improvement and feel that auditors have the ability to add value to any organisation.
