About you
I’m the Director Techno-commercial of JDS Food Products Pvt Ltd (a BRCGS Food “A” certified site for manufacturer & export of poppadums into UK), and the Managing Director of LEAD Process India Pvt Ltd, a business-lead management consulting company. In India, we represent several UK Food importer as their Sourcing Facilitator and Supply Chain Monitoring - Whistle Blower.
I’m an IRCA UK registered Lead Auditor for FSMS, Empaneled Lead Tutor for FSSC 22000, Lead Instructor for USFDA recognised Curriculum of FSPCA PCQI - Human Food & Animal Food.
Why did you join the BRCGS Professional Programme?
I joined the program to be a leader in BRCGS Standards. I have worked for BRCGS Food certified sites for 10 years and, during this time, I've seen BRCGS evolve as GFSI recognised Global Standards – witnessing the positive impact throughout the food supply chain.
The programme also provides a good platform for global recognition, which appealed to me.
What value do you personally feel the Professional certification brings to you?
I'm proud of being a BRCGS Professionals graduate. It feels extra special to be the 100th (and only the third from India / SAARC region)
How has/will the recognition programme impacted your work?
The recognition has boosted my confidence and will hopefully be inspiring to my food safety peers.
Would you have completed the component courses anyway?
Yes, certainly. The component courses are practical and well designed, equipping food safety professionals with the tools to excel. I found it very useful to refine my understanding of subject and came away having gained new skills.
How did you get to your current role?
I'm proud of my 17 year career in the food industry, and the broad range of experience amassed handling export requirements across the world.
What is your educational background?
I graduated in chemistry, with a Post Grad in Ecology & Environmental Studies and a Diploma in Food Preservation Technology. I also hold a Masters Degree in Business Administration from The University of Cambridge, UK.
I was trained at the prestigious Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore, India. I have also trained as a 3rd Party Lead Auditor for QMS, FSMS, EMS, OHSAS & BRCGS Food.
What are your career ambitions or aims?
My career ambition is to be a responsible Indian representative, cultivating good relationship with international clients to promote Food Safety Culture globally.
I aim to raise awareness of the programme in certified sites and, as part of my commitment to CPD, I also want to undertake the BRCGS TTT course to become BRCGS Approved Training Partner.
