Food Safety (Issue 9) Category Guideline: Alcoholic Drinks
This guideline is to assist producers of wine covered under Category 13 of the Food Safety standard (Issue 9).
For the purpose of this guideline, wine is defined as a product obtained from the alcoholic fermentation of grapes, whether crushed or not, or of grape must. The guide does not offer specific guidance for products that fall under category 13 but are not wine according to the definition above but content may also be useful for products such as:
• beer, cider, and other fermented products
• liqueurs and spirits
• alcoholic infusions
• vinegar.
