BRCGS was founded to harmonise food safety standards and reduce the burden of multiple second-party audits on retailers. This initiative quickly developed into a comprehensive certification programme, and today, the BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety is in its 9th edition and recognised worldwide. BRCGS certification has evolved into new areas and touches every aspect of the 21^st century supply chain across both food and non-food categories driving continuous improvement across global industries.
