START is a food safety development programme created specifically for aspirational food businesses. It helps them build the structure, confidence, and credibility to move beyond local or HACCP-based certifications and progress toward full GFSI-recognised certification.

As the programme continues to grow globally, particularly in LATAM, the demand for qualified START auditors is rising.

If you're passionate about food safety and want to play a key role in the industry, becoming a START auditor could be the next step in your career.

What is a START Auditor?

A START auditor assesses food producers against the START Standard at either the basic or intermediate level, verifying site compliance with BRCGS START requirements.
This role is crucial in supporting sites on their food safety journey, helping to ensure that products are safe, high quality, and compliant.

How to Become a START Auditor

To become a START auditor, you’ll need to complete the START Issue 2: Auditor Training, which provides the knowledge and skills needed to audit against the START Standard effectively.
