BRCGS and LGC recently participated in a series of Woolworths Asia Supplier Events held across Thailand and China, providing an opportunity to engage directly with suppliers and share insights on food safety, quality assurance and compliance.
The events concluded successfully on 10 and 11 September in Bangkok, Thailand, and on 15 September in Shenzhen, China. The Woolworths Asia Supplier Update and Asia Technical Own Brand Supplier Update (Food and Formulated Non-Food) brought together production, quality, research and development, and technical leaders from across the food and formulated non-food supply chains.
As key partners of Woolworths in supply chain assurance, BRCGS and LGC attended the events and hosted exhibition booths, enabling valuable face-to-face discussions with suppliers. These conversations focused on strengthening supply chain quality, enhancing food safety programmes and supporting organisations in meeting evolving compliance expectations.
During the events, attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from BRCGS experts on some of the most important challenges and opportunities facing the industry today.
Ray Jin, Regional Head of North Asia, delivered a keynote presentation titled Insights into Frequently Occurring Non-Conformities under BRCGS Global Standards and Food Safety Standards. The session explored common areas of non-conformance and provided practical insights to help suppliers strengthen compliance and improve operational performance.
Virender Kumar, Strategic Account Manager for APAC, shared the latest updates from BRCGS and highlighted key compliance challenges across South Asia through the lens of the BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety Issue 9. His presentation focused on helping suppliers better understand current expectations and prepare for successful implementation and certification.
Events such as these demonstrate the value of collaboration across the supply chain. By bringing together suppliers, technical experts and industry stakeholders, they create opportunities to share knowledge, discuss challenges and support continual improvement in food safety and quality management.
