On 6 August 2026, the Special Seminar on Pest Risk Prevention-Control and Standardised Operations for Catering and Food Supply Chains was held in Beijing, bringing together food industry professionals to discuss pest-related compliance, inspection readiness and standardised operations.
Hosted by the Chinese Pest Control Association and the Beijing Pest Control Association, with Envu as co-organiser, the event provided a forum for industry experts to share knowledge and practical approaches to managing pest-related risks across food supply chains.
The programme covered a range of topics, from pest risk prevention theory and inspection preparation to protocols, standards and practical exercises. Industry experts also shared their experience through presentations and face-to-face Q&A sessions, providing attendees with practical insights into the challenges associated with pest management and food safety.
During the afternoon session, Ray Jin, Regional Head for North Asia at BRCGS, delivered a keynote presentation titled “Insights into Food Safety Standards and Common Pest-Related Issues in Food Supply Chains.”
Ray explored the relationship between food safety standards and pest-related risks, highlighting common issues that food businesses may encounter and the importance of effective prevention and control measures within food supply chains.
The event provided an opportunity for industry professionals to exchange knowledge and strengthen their understanding of pest risk prevention, inspection readiness and standardised food safety practices.
