We have published a new Position Statement (P708) for Packaging Materials Issue 7 as part of the alignment with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) Benchmarking Requirements 2024. The Position Statement introduces a number of updates to ensure continued alignment with the latest benchmarking requirements and industry expectations.
The Position Statement is effective for all audits conducted from 10 August 2026, allowing a transition period for certificated sites to review and implement the changes before they are assessed during audit.
To help sites understand the changes, we have produced a short video explaining the key updates introduced through Position Statement P708 and what they mean in practice.
