In May, Shandong Zhongxin Food Group officially launched their BRCGS certification initiative with a two-day training programme, marking the first step in its efforts to enhance food safety management and raise supply chain quality standards across its operations.
The launch ceremony and empowerment training programme were held on 12 May in Linyi, Shandong bringing together company leaders, external experts and quality management personnel from across the group.
At the event, Zhang Xibin, General Manager of the group’s Food Quality Management Department, addressed attendees on the strategic importance of adopting internationally recognised standards. Ray Jin, BRCGS Regional Head for North Asia, delivered a keynote speech, while Zhao Bin, Business Development Director at Food Knowledge Navigator, shared insights into the LGC Group’s core services, including LGC AXIO proficiency testing.
The training programme was delivered by Intertek, with Li Dekun leading a two-day on-site course focused on BRCGS Global Standard Food Safety. Quality and safety managers, together with system leads from 13 branch companies nationwide, took part in the sessions as the group moved to align more closely with world-class benchmarks and strengthen quality management across all operations.
One Shandong Zhongxin Food Group’s deep-processing factories has already achieved certification, and the remaining 12 enterprises are now set to begin the process. As the business continues to expand, Shandong Zhongxin Food Group plans to widen the certification programme further, using improvements in systems development and process management to drive higher production standards and stronger management capabilities across the organisation.
