Having worked as an auditor, consultant and trainer in the Packaging Sector since 1992, Keith Ogden has wide experience of helping companies to achieve and maintain BRCGS Packaging Materials Certification. Keith has been a BRCGS Registered Consultant since 2013.

Keith believes in supporting his clients through the whole certification process and helping them to sustain a high level of compliance for subsequent renewals.  This is reflected in a high level of customer loyalty with several clients still working regularly with Keith many years after initial certification.  Since Issue 6 of the Standard was launched every audit that Keith has hosted has resulted in Grade AA.

Keith has worked with companies on BRCGS Certification since the standard was first developed and has worked in 23 countries worldwide helping companies to achieve and maintain effective control of product hygiene and safety.  Clients cover a wide cross section of the Packaging Industry – including Metals, Flexible Plastics, Rigid Plastics, Paper, Corrugated Board, Folding Cartons, Labels, etc.  Keith’s clients range from small family-owned companies up to multi-national groups.

Work undertaken includes:

  • BRCGS Gap Analyses, Pre-Audits and advice for initial certification or new Issues of the Standard
  • Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment/Management System Development and Implementation
  • Quality Management System Development and Implementation
  • Mentoring throughout the whole BRCGS Certification Process and contact with Certification Bodies
  • Retained consultancy to help maintain systems and standards to achieve successful renewal
  • Internal Auditing and Inspection (of Company Management Systems and Standards)
  • Supplier Auditing (Raw Materials, Sub-contractors and Transport/Storage)
  • Hazard and Risk Management Team Training (site/product specific)
  • Basic Packaging Hygiene/BRCGS Training and Refresher Training
  • Product Defence and Fraud/Vulnerability Assessment Training (site/product specific)
  • Advice on design and construction of new manufacturing plants and subsequent progress to BRCGS Certification

In addition to expertise in the BRCGS Packaging Materials, Keith also has a good working knowledge and experience of several sectors of the Food Industry.
