John joined the BRCGS management team in 2009 as Americas Regional Director. He brings a leadership background in operations and quality assurance with Kraft and ConAgra, engineering and business development with Ecolab, as well as food and organic certification program development with SAI Global.
John currently leads BRCGS and is responsible for its financial and operational performance. He continues to lead the Standards, Compliance and Business Development teams, as well as leading the work with other LGC ASSURE business units to provide customers the best value.
Dr John TomlinsonGlobal Sales, Marketing & Business Strategy Director
John Tomlinson joined the British Retail Consortium as Sales and Marketing Director in 2015 as part of a shared service covering both the Trade Association and BRCGS. He is responsible for setting up a team to directly engage with customers and partners to develop both value propositions and drive growth and customer satisfaction.
Previously he was Director of Sales for BSI Standards, part of the British Standards Institution Group, and was responsible for selling and developing BSI's global publishing business through an international network of direct and indirect sales channels.
John has extensive commercial experience in the professional services sector including managing membership businesses. Prior to working for BSI Standards, he held commercial roles with Eurofins, Leatherhead Food Research and Whitbread. Over that period he has worked with retailers, manufacturers, certification bodies and regulators at senior account and business development levels.
John has a PhD in chemistry.
Michelle TindaleDirector LGC ASSURE Performance Enhancement
Michelle joined the company in 2012 and is responsible for the BRCGS Academy and BRCGS’ events. Having worked in a number of sectors, which enabled her to build a flexible and adaptable skill set to offer operational and management expertise, Michelle is now able to explore her passion of seeing people grow and develop to the best of their abilities.
As Director LGC ASSURE Performance Enhancement, Michelle is responsible for working with the individual brands to extend our training and events offering bringing added value to our clients.
Mark PettengellDigital Business Director
Mark leads the digital transformation of BRCGS and to develop platforms to manage and reduce supply chain risk. Mark moved to the business in 2019, having spent over 10 years in senior IT positions at BRCGS’s parent company, LGC.
Mark leads a team of talented analysts and developers that are responsible for defining and implementing the company’s digital roadmap to meet the needs of BRCGS and its stakeholders.
Jessica RestallHead Of Finance
Jessica joined the company in 2016. She is an ACCA qualified account and manages the company's finances. She provides regular reports on performance and results.
Prior to joining BRCGS, Jessica was Group Financial Controller for both the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and BRC Global Standards. She also worked for SAI Global.
