Dr. Mamun Chowdhury is a Food Technical Project Manager at the SGS North America Inc. He completed B.Sc. Hons in Agricultural Engineering, MS in Food Technology in 1997 and 2002 respectively and has been awarded PhD degree before joining in SGS North America in Feb 2013. In addition he also completed number of industry and university applied courses including better process control, food and nonfood contact packaging, statistical process control, design of experiments, sanitation and pest control, team building and public speaking. He has experience of over 15 years working in a wide range of food, packaging and agro processing industry across the globe with a specialized knowledge on GFSI approved scheme. He is a certified food safety auditor for BRC Food Issue 7, FSSC22000, ISO9001, Non-GMO, Gluten free, MSC-COC, UTZ, HALAL having thorough familiar with EU, USFDA GMP and FSMA requirements. Dr. Chowdhury has published 5 (five) researched papers in various useful aspects of agro food industry, member of Engineering Institute of Bangladesh and served as General Secretary of Bangladesh Association of Certification Bodies before start to work for SGS North America. With his current roles as Food Technical Project Manager, SGS NA he is overseeing public presentations/seminars on specific food auditing standards, responsible for monitoring the certification status, auditor development, technical audit file reviewer, answer technical queries, coaching, supervising and mentoring trainee auditors and delivers public training. He enjoys all aspects of auditing and training as resource and is dedicated to spread that passion to other stakeholders!
