BRCGS Directory

Next Generation Directory

We are pleased to confirm that in Q4 2020 a new BRCGS Directory will be launched, and the existing version retired. The next generation Directory is a completely new platform and the first digital product designed exclusively to BRCGS specification.

At launch the new Directory will both replace the functionality required to maintain business as usual and deliver an adaptable framework for future development.

Although we are initially replacing existing functionality, users can expect to see several efficiency improvements from day one, including a simplified auditor profile area and streamlined audit submission tool. We anticipate these go-live enhancements will immediately offer timesaving and data-quality benefits to all users.

Connecting the Directory to your local platform

The next generation Directory has been built with connectivity in-mind and soon after launch we expect to offer the option for Certification Bodies to submit audit-data on an automated basis via API. This functionality will require corresponding capability within the Certification Body’s own database. Further details, including release schedule and conditions of use will be shared via nominated CB contacts as they become available.

Staying up to date

As day to day users of the Directory, Certification Bodies have a critical role to play in ensuring the transition to the new Directory is a smooth one and we have recently contacted all asking for a nominated contact to become a next generation Directory ‘expert’.

That nominee will be our first point of contact for all switchover related information, including key dates and training materials. Nominees will be asked to share information within their own organisations and may be required to provide BRCGS with pre-launch preferences such as user details and office configuration. Should you wish to check that your Certification Body has submitted their nomination, please contact us using this form.

As the project enters its final phase, we expect to be able to share precise dates and actions required for the switchover relatively soon. Information, including API availability, will be released via nominated experts as and when it becomes available. If you do have any questions in the interim please contact antony.harrison@brcgs.com
